Larry Fisher’s interest in railroading has been life-long. Born into a railroad family, as a child he exchanged railroad sketches with his father, whose work as a brakeman and conductor for the Soo Line had him traveling often. Self-taught, in 1998 Larry retired from a 30-year career as a television cameraman and set designer to pursue his art full-time. His work has appeared on magazine and book covers, and eventually as Limited Edition Art Prints. A stickler for detail, his tools include a magnifying glass and a #1 paintbrush. His persistent goal is to recreate on canvas an actual scene from a bygone era. The scenes he depicts are those that will never again be captured on film.
