Charlie Dischinger

Charlie Dischinger entered the world of photography under the tutelage of his father, a Commercial Artist who specialized in photo retouching. He was learning to retouch photographs before he started high school or had taken a picture. A successful photographer himself, the digital age inspired him further, allowing him to combine the worlds of art and painting with photography. What he learned in the dark room with B/W images, when applied to his color images, allows him the freedom to select the elements that are important to his final prints. Charlie's work covers many walls at BNSF headquarters in Ft. Worth, Texas, and have appeared in most major railroad industry publications and in ads and/or calendars for such major corporations as GE and Trinity. Now retired from a 35-year railroad career, he remains active with his digital artistic photography both with the railroad industry and in volunteer work for the National Park Service, particularly Wilson's Creek National Battlefield.
