Rick Borrett

Rick Borrett took an interest in art and drawing at age 7, and he started painting when he was 12. He worked initially with acrylics, then switched to oils, and is now back to painting with acrylics. An avid woodworker as well, he carves and builds furniture, and on occasion combines his passions to create what is a new expression for him: painted woodcarvings. He has garnered awards for works in each medium. Married since 1977, he and his wife Terri have three children and nine grandchildren. Art is an important aspect of the family's life and travels as they seek the beauty around them and Rick tries to capture it in different mediums. When he's traveling, you might find him trying to capture the moment, whether on film for a later painting, or with his easel and paints, working plein air.
